TN College of Applied Technology at McKenzie hosted the
annual food drive for the local United Neighbors of Carroll County. The school held a competition between classes
to see who could raise the most cans. For
the second year, the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration
class, along with their instructor Terry Wilson, were the winners with a total
of 117.96 cans per student, which totals approximately 2713 cans. Second place went to the Computer Information
Technology class, who raised a total of 93.09 cans per student (approximately
1769 cans). Third place went to the Administrative Office Technology class with
a total of 75.59 cans per student (approximately 1663 cans). The overall number of cans raised this year
was 8198, which exceeded last year’s total by approximately 2900! The food will
be distributed back into the Carroll County community through the United
Neighbors program.
TCAT-McKenzie would like to thank all the classes and
instructors for their participation. We are extremely proud of the students, faculty
and staff for their help in making this year’s food drive the most successful
one yet!
