Passing the Torch-David Earley, New Welding Instructor

Jimmy Kee, passing the torch to new instructor, David Earley

TCAT MCKENZIE HIRES NEW INSTRUCTOR

TCAT McKenzie is proud to welcome the new Welding Technology instructor, Mr. David Earley.  David is taking the place of Mr. Jimmy Kee, who is moving to East TN to head up a new welding program at TCAT-Elizabethton.

David is a native of Michigan.  He attended Algomac High School until his sophomore year, after which he was home schooled.

David and his family moved to TN in 1989, where they started a family business.  After closing the business, David worked at various places, including Plumley and Atlantic Homes.  When Atlantic Homes burned, David started his own landscaping business, which he ran successfully for 14 years.  When the housing market declined, David decided to go to school.  He enrolled in TCAT-Jackson under Mr. Phillip Cranford.  While there, he was nominated for Outstanding Student of the Year and graduated with honors.

Since graduating, David has worked in various capacities in welding.  He has taught welding, substituting many times at TCAT-Jackson (Lexington campus) and traveled extensively while working for H & M Construction.  He moved up the ranks from welding to foreman, shop foreman, welding superintendent, and now, welding instructor.

David and his wife currently reside in McKenzie.   We are honored to have him join the staff at TCAT-McKenzie.
