Way To Go, Terry! Certified Master HVACR Educator

Terry Wilson, HVAC Instructor, has become only the 2nd person in the State of Tennessee and 55th person in the nation to receive The Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE) credential.  This is the highest credential that can be conferred upon an HVACR educator.

CMHE is conferred upon those who have:
  • Met their State's requirements for instructors
  • Obtain a passing score of 80% or better on six area specific CSME exams
    1. Electrical
    2. Air Conditioning
    3. Light Commercial Air Conditioning
    4. Light Commercial Refrigeration
    5. Electric Heat
    6. Gas Heat, Oil Heat or Heat Pumps
  • Obtain a passing score of 80% or better on the Capstone Exam which covers technical education methodologies, principles, and practices, which attest to their pedagogical skills.
Terry made a personal goal of taking one certification test per week until he passed them all.
He amazingly passed each exam on the first attempt and scored over 90% on 4 of the 7 exams.

Terry has been the HVAC Instructor at the Tennessee Technology Center at McKenzie since December 2005.  He was also a graduate of the HVAC Program at TTC McKenzie.
